Hello. Has anyone applied for retirement disability from state employment after several years of working. I was wondering how long the process? I was told I was eligible for this benefit but was denied even after submitting medical records. I got an attorney and was denied a second time. Now my attorney is appealing again?

Hi Whill all I can suggest is to keep appealing. We have had people on here that have been fighting for years it's not right and it's not fair.

Good luck and keep us posted. A lot of people read these post but don't post themselves. So I am sure others will be watching to see how you fair.

After applying for and being denied twice for my husband who had Cystic Fibrosis, I decided to go directly to an attorney who specializes in SSDI claims when it was time for me to apply for myself. I was approved immediately.

My suggestion would be to insure your attorney specializes in SSDI claims.

Good luck!

I thank you all for your response and encouragement. Kate lady I totally agree it's not right, people have worked for years , some most of their lives and the government has taken money from us all those years for Social Security butt when we need the money we have to fight for the money and still get denied.

Lupid, I'm glad things worked out for you. Did you have to go before a judge to get approved?

Just don't give up. It's sad that so many people try and work the system but the ones who really need it have a hard time getting any kind of help

Everyone keep your fingers crossed for moo today is the day she goes in hopefully she will get some help

Moo has too many assets....lolol.....and has been instructed to sell her guitars.

They are on kijiji. The land of low ballers lol. Took me 30+ years to accumulate my instruments.

Took 5 mins for someone to tell me that 30+ years meant diddly squat.

HI

What state are  you in?  Do you also have a private insurance plan.  It takes time and appeals and appeals.

Are you out of work now? Do you still have sick days??   I don't get why employers think they know more than a patients doctor.  I would like to figure that one out

good luck
