Hi all! This is my first time posting. Does anyone else ever have issues wearing rings? I have noticed recently that when I have a flare, my rings gives me a rash, sometimes causing blisters and scarring. When I'm not in a flare, my rings don't bother me. They aren't cheap costume jewelry! :)

Any insight is appreciated. Thank you!

Hey ngriffin,

My problem is a nickel allergy.  I can only wear gold without getting spots, blisters or a rash.

Some silver isn't too bad....even 925 pure gives me a rash sometimes.  It all depends on the nickel content.  And hypoallergenic jewellery?  lol, forget it.......I break out very badly.

I'm allergic to nickel as well but this is happening with my wedding ring, which is white gold. Just recently it started happening with my sterling silver rings too. So weird!

I agree that scented soaps may be playing a factor too. Thank you both for the responses!

I get a rash with rings and my watch. Just every once in a while. I clean my jewelry and use some alcohol on my skin for a few days. Benadryl st night and it clears up.
