I am trying not to be a pouty-puss today, but this is the beginning of my 1st summer w/ lupus dx --and sun avoidance, and I'm not handling it well...  I have my "awesome" UPF jackets but it's so humid and hot that I am throwing an internal temper tantrum bc I don't want to put the damn thing on!  The pools are open today and I don't wanna wear my stupid "swim suit" aka swim pants and a long-sleeved rash guard.  Gosh, I am just a huge grumpy bi-otch right now :(  IDK if i should "get my grouchies out" with exercise, drink heavily, go into full blown Roid-rage (on my 60 mg of Pred again today) or just cry in bed!  Arghhhhhhhh!

[Sorry just had to vent]

S&L I am a California from the top of my head to the bottom of my toes. By the end of the week it will be 100 degrees here and I can't go outside.

I have watched the kids through the windows while they swam. It's hard

But have a tantrum throw something if you must and scream if you must it is ok.

After that stop and think do I have lupus or does lupus have me.

I still go on vacations, I still swim, I still go camping I just do it differently and with a lot more thought

You can do it .

You're right Cake! I ended up putting on the ugly swim pants and hot rash guard and had myself a good damn time at the pool today. :D  I got out sparkling grape juice for the kids and some wine for hubby & me and I raised my glass in a toast to honor Memorial Day, along with the kids' last week of school and our many blessings (and then to myself, my first day of many swimming with lupus;).  We feasted on some BBQ and delicious sides and had ourselves a wonderful day after all!

For someone who does not like pain or needles I don't know why my daughter did it and she did her hips

Ahh.....memories.

Quite fitting for a memorial weekend.

I am a nipple virgin myself....and also a tattoo virgin. We all know how well I do with needles....and my nipples, thus far, have had no issues.

Don't want to upset the turnip cart.

Have never had the urge to have an ant farm. I'm thinking they're pretty hard to cuddle. And they are only two legs short of being a spider.

I'll stick with my 176 lb cat.

For Memorial Day..... I would remember my bro....who was a Naval Officer and died this January 30th. No tats there either.....but he sure loved his rum.

Perfect Bun!
This thread was one of the funniest ever and in honor of Memorial Day a great tribute to Anthony's wit.

Also, I have to say Raglets response was STELLAR!!!!!!!!!!

I know this holiday is for the military vets, however, Anthony was a Lupus Vet and that sticks in my book.

LMAO on the nipple ring

Pierced my own ears, but the thought never entered my mind about piercing anywhere else myself. Lol. Only Anthony could make us laugh like that. I really miss him.
