Consuming an omega-3 fatty acid called DHA, or docosahexaenoic acid, can stop a known trigger of lupus and potentially other autoimmune disorders, researchers have discovered.

AntKnee also got me on Salmon Oil.....shouldn't take it if you have internal bleeding issues.....so waited until I had that under control.

It really helps with inflammation.....as I can't take nsaids.

Boy I wish he was here.......

I've been taking Vit B-12 & Fish oil/omega 3 for a few years, but my labs in Nov still came back really low in B & D. I asked my rheumy how that could be, & she told me about pernicious anemia -- an AI issue that won't allow the stomach to absorb B. She added a D supplement, & we hoped it would help the pain in my legs, but if it's had any effect, it hasn't been much.

On the fishy after-taste... I haven't noticed that problem, but I try to get the burpless fish oil supplement. Idk if my sense of taste/smell is just shot, or if maybe I should look for a stronger supplement, or what the explanation for no after-taste could be.

B12 is destroyed by stomach acid and for people who really need it, is usually given by injection.  There are also patches.  I take it under the tongue and feel much better, but have not been tested for sufficiency.  My dad had pernicious anemia and was deathly sick before diagnosed.  Was given B12 shots and recovered rapidly. Took them for the rest of his life.
