Hi all. I had a rheumatologist appt. 5 years ago for positive ANA and positive Anti SM with swollen joints, hives, butterfly rash and extreme fatigue and brain fog. He blew off my symptoms since the day of appt. I was not experiencing them. Since then I have tested positive for ANA and Anti SM 2 more times over the years by my PCP and continue to have extreme fatigue, brain fog, swollen hands and feet, hives, off and on butterfly rash on cheeks. I am preparing for again seeing a rheumatologist as my PCP wants me too and am praying they don't ignore my symptoms again. This time I took photos of my rashes, swollen joints and hives and Im bringing copies of all my positive ANA and Anti SM tests. Is there anything else I should do to prepare for my rheumy appt? Thanks for your helpā¤

Welcome
Keep a journal of your symptoms and bring it with you. :)

Also, get your PCP to write a letter explaining why he suspects you may have lupus. Hand carry a copy with you. Sometimes another doc's words mean more than a patient's alone do.

If your appointment is very soon and you haven't kept a symptom journal, write down approximate dates and symptoms.

Best of luck!
