Hey guys, so here's a little history of how they told me that I have Lupus, back in June my Ana panel was abnormal, so I had to wait 3 months for a dr appointment with a Rhem. They diagnosed me back in September. But never told me what kind. Is that weird? I didn't even know their were different kinds till someone asked me about it. But what I also have is Sjorgens. I have more symptoms of Sjorgens then I do of lupus. He gave me medication called Hydroxychloraquine. I've been taking it since November. But that also is a medication for Sjorgens. I know they sometimes go hand in hand. But theres just something inside that tells me you need a second opinion. But there isn't another dr that I can get until 3 or 4 months down the line and I might be moving upstate.

With my blood test results is there anything I can look for to see if I have lupus? Does anyone know? Is there anything I can do while waiting for another Dr or what questions I can ask my current dr to see more about it?

I'm just so confused right now.

When I was younger when I got diagnosed with Hypertension at 8, they told my parents that I may have Lupus. But they never pursued it because the next test came out negative and they were more focused on controlling my blood pressure than they were in a possibility of another disease but I never knew that until my parents told me about it when I told them I got diagnosed. I'm 24 year old so I've been taking meds for most of my life and having health issues. So if this is something that I don't need more medications for and more drs appointments. I would like to know.

Anything helps.

Hi
Plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine) is usually the first defense for AI disease. It can take 4-6 months to build in the system before you will begin to see improvement of symptoms. Not knowing what your symptoms are, it is hard to comment.
This is an excellent site to get info:

Hi Grace! Hope you get answers soon, but glad that you are getting treatment :)

Dolphin, immunosuppressants are no fun!!!  I wish that plaquenil would have worked for me!
