Hello - I have had Lupus since 2010. I have been in a pretty bad flare the last couple of months. I have been a stay at home mom for the last 7 years. Due to financial issues I need to go back to work but I know I won't pass a drug test due to taking percocet for my pain every night to be able to sleep. If I don't take it I wake up in the middle of the night and sometimes I get such bad head aches taking the pain pills is what gets me through it. Has anyone had to take a drug test and be on pain meds? Did you tell your employer you have Lupus? I am so worried about telling them I have Lupus, afraid I wont get the job. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in Advance.

I did not have to take a drug test but I was dx after I had been working the same job for years. They were there when I got my dx so it was not really a secret. I think you should tell them if you want the job. Tell them you only take it at night. You might also have your doctor write you a note. My rhemy did that for me

Good luck and keep us posted. And congrads on the new job.

Thank you! That's a good idea. I see her on Tuesday, I'm going to ask her. I'm sure she would have no problem doing it.

Most rhemys will not have a problem. Also you might want to ask for a prescription to get your vehicle windows tinted. With a doctors note you can get them tinted to the darkest level. When I see my rhemy next week I am going to ask for one. It has helped air of people here to have tinted windows

Really? Wow! I didn't know you could get a script for that. Thanks for the advice.

A script for window tint allows you to tint your car windows to a darker tint than legally allowed by most states. In Wisconsin, I need to keep that in my car as proof of medical need for the tint.
