Thanks for updating this. As much as we try to tell folks that sun exposure increases disease activity, there are some that insist that it IS NOT sun exposure. The discussions seem like an one up-manship, instead of hearing what people are trying to say. The bottom line is that there are very few lupus patients that are not effected by sun exposure. As I said before, you think all you get is a pesky rash. There is a lot going inside from sun exposure. Increased kidney issues, increased joint issues, etc.
I am done trying to help the folks that do not want help. SO, those who think you are fine hanging out in the sun, have at it. I wasn't trying to be a know it all (as some of you have been), I was actually being helpful. So the few of you newbies that seem to want to be so helpful, really may hurting others by suggesting that hanging out south of the border is perfectly fine. Peace out.

Edit: corrected typo

Cake, I am so tired of the asinine stuff that has happened over the past couple of months. If I get tossed off here because SOMEONE keeps complaining about me, than so be it.

Update:  I discovered that the emergency breast surgery on my left breast took place 2 days after sun exposure.  While I still cannot be certain that it was the sun that caused this problem, seeing the correlation was enough for me to take sun restriction seriously!  I recently bought my new "bathing suit":  long swim pants and a long-sleeved rash guard, along with 6 new mineral sunscreens to try :)

If I could give this post a million THUMBS UP, I would!!!!!!!!!!!

Robin, it was you that warned me when I first joined here, and that made me go back and read through my journals to see how my days in the sun had actually affected me --so thank YOU!  I did find evidence that while my skin may not react to the sun, my body does...  we had a vacation last summer spending lots of time outdoors, and when I wasn't out in the sun, i was in bed w/ my heating pad, trying to recover before the next activity. Seriously, you have probably saved my life by pointing out that we do not know what's happening inside our bodies w/ sun exposure and getting me to dig into those journals for proof. I am eternally grateful <3

S&L after being in the sun I usually end up throwing up. Many of times I have a a pillow in the bathroom laying on the floor
