I have a brain MRI every six months for lupus cerebritis. I have been getting the requisition for my MRIs from my rheumy and then call the hospital and schedule them myself. Then I call the doc's office to let them know when it is and they work on the insurance preapproval. This way I don't have to wait for someone to call me and say, hey, how about the sixth Tuesday of next month at 5:30 am? Instead I call and set it up for a good time for me and I get in quicker than if I'd waited for them to call me. I may be getting some negative feedback on it from my rheumy's office, so I was just wondering, do any of you do set up your own MRIs, CTs, etc?

Hi Pianist,

Yes......I arrange my own MRI's.

My doc can get me in ......in about 6 months.  But I know a radiologist that works in a hospital close by me.....who I sold high end wine to.

He gets me in .....when I contact him......in about 2 days.

I'm lucky he liked my customer service.  :O)

Thanks for your replies. I'm going to keep scheduling mine even though it bugs them.
