"I, also miss Anthony and think of him often. His last year of life should have been here, on this message board. Unfortunately, that is not the way it worked out. He was crushed when he was removed from this board and at this point, I can only hope that he knew how much he was loved, respected and so important to the very thing he spent most of his time doing.... helping folks with lupus.
One day, and I am sure not in my lifetime, his legacy along with Dr McGrath will be the forefront for lupus."

Robin?  is there any wonder I tried to come see you?  Not only are you a ravishing beauty, your heart and mind are both incredibly beautiful.

that was the nicest tribute......my heart hurts.

Smiling in your general direction.

cake yes it is lonely it is nice to have a dog and the cat when you have lupus and your kids are always busy and your family lives in Texas and the three or four different things you have wrong with you are taking you over and you just feel alone.and three or four things wrong with with me is a good weekl

No kidding about lupus being a lonely disease....very lonely, very socially isolating too. It's a catch 22 for me, I really try not to talk about my illness because I don't want it to be my identity and I don't want to be focused on it, but on the other hand, you will have to explain why you have weeks at a time where you just physically cannot do things, or why you are down at 5 pm every night.

bun yeah I feel like I know a very small part of Anthony that was very smart and giving and wanted to share all he knew about lupus I really do wish I had been here when he was on the message board.
Bun saw the funniest Bugs Bunny on Facebook if I knew how to transfer it on my phone I would've saved it for you now every time I see bugs or a cute bunny I think of you and what you're going through crosses my mind every day

Hey Darla,

Yep.  he was all of those things you said.  He could also be overbearing, bull stubborn and downright rude.  GOD I miss him lolol.  I can be a little cranky sometimes too........his knowledge of Lupus......& his passion.......for UVA1 Phototherapy made up for his crankiness.  At least for me. well....sometimes ;O)  I think he would've liked you too.

And you've got the bunny buzz eh?  I spot rabbits all day long.....it's crazy.  And if I see a blond dog......looking at me like he wants me to scratch his butt........I will think of you!  ;O)

Oh, he was cantankerous, all right! Probably suffered from a severe rabbit deficiency, but he sure liked cupcakes and robins! :) Anthony was a Chicago Italian, like me, and a superb reporter while he was still working. He was also an excellent researcher, who had a knack for finding great articles on lupus and related health stuff, and no medical jargon was too tough for him. He was  tireless advocate for UVA1 phototherapy. Life had battered and bruised Anthony, but he never indulged in self-pity. Truly a class act.

You all are amazing!  I'm just realizing what I've been dealing with for many years and concerned of what the future may hold for me.  I have to say though that I'm feeling the love and understanding you have for each other and I find it very comforting.

Keep on keepin on, it's very inspiring!
