Hello, new to lupus. Diagnosed around December with sudden onset of symptoms and positive ana test. Just wondering has any one else started having allergy issues with foods, environmental stuff, and things in general? Had no prior allergies to anything until lupus symptoms started, now allergic to things I used to eat or be around daily.

Thanks for getting back to me! Yes I'm an allergy sufferer this year as well :( but I meant more along the lines of food. I used to eat bananas and seafood and other things often and around the time of my diagnosis I became allergic to them and some medicines. Now it seems like since I'm getting a new food allergy often. Didn't know if that was a lupus thing or coincidence.

Give it time I am sure some others will answer. We do have people who have gone gluten free and they say it helps. You might want to look around the forum and see what you can find. I know we have talked about this before

Good luck and welcome to the forum

I cannot digest anything with basil since I was diagnosed. Before it was just a mild allergy. I think I'm becoming sensitive to dairy products also.

Always had a problem with milk, but as I got older the more things started to be problems as well. Walnuts, gluten and the latest one being beef. Not all beef botheres me, just the regular grocery store stuff. Grass fed, local beef doesn't case the stomach issues. I asked a rancher friend and she said it was likely the antibiotics that large feed lots put into the feed. Since I'm allergic to penicillin, it might be more of a problem for me than the general population.

Hi

I suffer from idiopathic angioedema, hives and lots of allergy related stuff. Me personally, I feel there is a link between these and lupus.

Hope this helps!
