For me, Mother's Day has always been met with thanks, yes, but, as well, great sadness and sometimes shame.  Being a mother at 16, but not being able to ackowledge it and being branded a w~hore.....certainly took it's toll on me whenever Mother's Day rolled around.

My own Mother (bless her kind soul) was devoted to eight children.  Two of which treated her (completely undeservedly) with such venom and cruelty, that I'm sure She had her own feelings of sadness on Mother's Day. I gave up a child in 1977. One who is herself a mother now, and has included me in her child's life.  She said to me, when I expressed concern to her about me being involved in her son's life......concern for his other two Grannies........."I want to surround him with love.  Don't worry....you're a lovely person and they know that."  And then she called me a bonehead. I waited 38 years for that.

This post is for everyone.  (although ol' moo has certainly gone on and on and on about herself) Those who had less that stellar moms...or those who don't have children.....or those, who for whatever painful reason, remain silent on this day and feel alone in their conflicting emotions.  And those who are blessed with wonderful Mother's or are great mothers themselves who deserve a special day.

A very happy day to you all.
